We’re excited to have you with us today!  We invite you to worship with us. This morning, Pastor starts a new series called “That My House Will Be Full: Open House!” 

Guests
We ask that all our guests fill out the guest registration card and place it in the offering plate so that we may have a record of your attendance.

VBS/Back to School Blast
We are planning a Back to School Blast (Vacation Bible School) for September 21st- 24th.  Please keep this very important outreach in your prayers. We have a volunteer sign up sheet and an items needed sheet in the foyer.  We need volunteers to help us register kids and to help track visitors, as well as with crafts, snacks, outside activities, and teaching time. Items Needed for VBS.  We are in need of several items for VBS-please see the list in the foyer and sign up if you can donate.  Meeting this morning.  We are having a short update meeting about VBS immediately following this morning service.

Teen Challenge
Teen Challenge is here tonight They are singing and giving testimonies.  Make plans to be here!

Pot Luck Tonight
We will have a potluck dinner tonight with Teen Challenge. Please bring a dish to share, and come and hear the testimonies and enjoy the fellowship.

How to Witness
This Wednesday evening Pastor continues teaching the series on how to lead someone to Christ as well as how to share your testimony.  The men and women are joining together for this series on Wednesday nights. 

You Are Invited
Erik House and Dawn Sanfemio would like to invite the congregation to their wedding on September 20, at 4:00 p.m.

Homes, Hosts & Leaders
In October we will start our third rotation of “8”.  In that rotation, we are planning to have small groups in homes.  We need folks who will allow us to use their homes, as well as people to lead these important outreach efforts.  If you are interested see pastor for more details

2008 Women’s Conference
Women from Assemblies of God churches in the Michigan District are invited to the 2008 Women’s Conference.  It is October 24th & October 25th at Greater Lansing Assembly of God.  More information to follow.

Candy Donations for Fall Festival
Our annual Fall Festival is fast approaching. We have a box in the foyer for candy donations.

In Touch
We are beginning a college care ministry for our college students called In Touch. We are sending cards and care packages to the students of active First Assembly families.

Kidz Church and Nursery
Kids are dismissed to their special services each Sunday morning after the offering.

Wednesday Night Services
Wednesday night services are being recorded. You can purchase one or all of the series.

Giving
Sunday, 8/31/08, the amount was $1060.00.  Our weekly budget needs are $2100.00.  The weekly giving for the last 5 weeks has averaged $1854.24. Thank you and God bless you for your faithful and obedient giving.

Second “eight”
We are continuing our second rotation of “eight”.  We only have 3 weeks of “8” Sunday night services left.

Praise and Worship Team Practice
The supplemental Praise and Worship Team practice follows our Wednesday night service.

Benevolence Fund
First Assembly is starting a Benevolence Fund so that we can help those in need, as directed in Scripture.  If you would like to give please mark your envelope “benevolence.”

Building Fund
We have a building fund to help pay for expenses that arise due to normal wear and tear.  The fund has been “dipped” into extensively in the recent remodel.  If you would like to give to this fund, please mark your envelope “building fund.”

Missions is the Heart of the Church
One of the purposes of the Church is to stir a passion for the worldwide spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  First Assembly of God supports missions by praying for and giving to missionaries and their ministries.

Workers for the Harvest
(Mat 9:37) The harvest is so great, and the workers are so few," he told his disciples. (38) So pray to the one in charge of the harvesting, and ask him to recruit more workers for his harvest fields.—The Living Bible

First Assembly has changed its address on the World Wide Web.  The website is www.alpenafirstassembly.org.  It is currently under construction, and will have links for the children’s ministries, Youth Ministries, as well as other ministries that are being planned.
